It’s been a minute or two since we prattled on about ourselves here, but hey, let’s skip the details and dig into the big enchilada: SAVAK has a new LP that’s coming out October 27 on the esteemed Ernest Jenning Record Co. You can pre-order the album now, which seems to be the current way bands hawk their wares, though I’ve no memory of pre-ordering anything before the age of clicking and I seemed to have filled my shelves with plenty of records. Anyway, prior to the aforementioned specific date, there are other specific dates. These that follow are where we will be with our San Diego friends in the group Pinback, who are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their album Autumn of the Seraphs, which came out on one of the greatest labels of all time, Touch and Go Records. Necros, Negative Approach, Die Kreuzen, Butthole Surfers, Scratch Acid, Big Black, Killdozer, Didjits, The Jesus Lizard, Laughing Hyenas. Come on! That’s just insane. How do you put out so many incredible records in like, what, six or seven years … and it’s still the late-eighties! We haven’t even gotten to Arcwelder, Seam, Polvo, Slint, Girls Against Boys. Ridiculous. Where was I? Oh, yeah, shows with Pinback. We are very excited and our pal Braulio Amado made a killer poster you’ll find at the merch booth.
